Pepper's Pedigree

Even though she was, at one point of her life, our Alpha dog,
Pepper never liked to be shown.
In the ring, her confidence
melted like ice cream under the sun.
The only time she liked to be shown
was in the brace.
It was surprising for us to see Chilly who,
at the time, was the lowest in rank
in our pack of boxers,
leading her Alpha dog
and raising her confidence.
Pepper may not have been the best show dog, but she is surely a wonderful brood bitch.
Her achievement of Dam of Merit
with very limited breeding is the proof.

Pepper has lived with us for 6 years
before going to live in Canada
with 3 toddlers that she adored for 4 years.
She then came back home to have
what we call her annual tune up.
As shown below, her body has grown old,
but she still liked to play
and wanted to be the alpha dog again.
She did not realize that she was not as strong
as she used to be.

Pepper spent her last 2 years with us,
and it is with sadness that we had
to take the hard decision to put an end
to her life as her back legs became too weak.

Pepper always loved to babysit kids and babies, lying on her side on the floor, to be at their level. Children were able to do whatever they wanted with her; she liked being the subject of their attention while keeping an eye on them. Many kids have learned to walk while holding on to her back or neck as a safe buoy.

Pepper has been successfully tested for heart.
